The Edgewater Community Religious Association, ECRA, invites you to a FREE powerful Juneteenth Service: “Recognize the Past, Name the Present” – a time to reflect, remember, and celebrate.

Reflect, remember, and celebrate

at 7 PM on Friday, June 19 at Sacred Heart Schools Chapel, 6250 North Sheridan Road. 

The one hour gathering is followed by a celebratory reception.

State Senator Mike Simmons will offer the keynote address, and Circles and Ciphers will perform.

It’s more than a service – it is a call to community and celebration of resilience.

Transportation

The CTA bus 151 and bus 147 run right in front of the 6250 North Sheridan location.   The site is also three blocks east of the CTA Granville Red Line el station.

There are two free parking lots available for this event.  For the larger lot, at the south-east corner of Granville and Kenmore, enter through the alley.  The other lot, just north of the apartment building at 6211 N. Kenmore, can be entered either from Kenmore or the alley.     

ECRA is an interfaith group of Christian, Muslim and Jewish congregations primarily in Edgewater.  In the 1970s leaders from ECRA congregations helped form Care for Real, the Edgewater Community Food Panty.   You do not have to be from Edgewater to participate in this joyous celebration.
